North Carolina Beaches would always hold a certain mystique that keeps people returning year after year to its sandy beaches. Could it be the pristine beaches? The splendor of the ocean coupled with the naturally temperate climate? Or could it be the peacefulness that wraps the beaches day in and day out, no matter how crowded they may get.

North Carolina Beaches for years have been the one destination people first think of when they want to get away from the stresses of everyday life. It comes as no surprise, of course, the beaches are truly heavenly and they carry quite a story too. If you have heard of the name Graveyard of the Atlantic then you would know that it refers to the shores of North Carolina.

It has been responsible for 600 shipwrecks beginning from the 16th century which were largely due to the odd shape of its beaches. In fact, there are currently 10 lighthouses that are lined up along the coast with 7 of those standing as reminders of the rich history and culture the coasts have.

Among the more visited North Carolina Beaches are the Holden and Wilmington beaches up until the stretch of barrier islands that is the Outer Banks. History buffs would surely get a kick out of the numerous museums and legends surrounding these coasts.

Whilst history buffs relish this, environmentalists would surely enjoy the fauna and flora that grow and thrive abundantly here. Natural trails, wildlife refuges and bird watching are just some of the activities they can enjoy. Adventurers aren’t left out; of course, hang gliding, windsurfing and scuba diving are just among the many adrenaline pumping activities they can enjoy.
